Manitoba business
leaders consider labour shortages as one of the top 2 challenges
facing business in Manitoba.
Many are looking to immigration
and off shore outsourcing as ways to solve this problem.
The “greying” of
the the work force is occurring rapidly as the ”Baby
Boomers” prepare to leave
the workforce. Expected labour needs are growing in service
and manufacturing industries, increasing annually 3% to 5%
through 2011. Even higher increases are predicted in the medical
and technical fields.
During this same period, there will be
a 30% drop in the number of people entering the workforce,
compared to 10 years ago.
General labour and entry level
positions will become increasingly harder to fill and turnover
will continue to increase as
employers compete for experienced and skilled labour.
Premier Personnel can help fill these types of positions
and our services and training is free to the employer
and our client. |
